How I wished you were next to me that day
When I was told that this was not my home
When I was asked to change my name because I am married now
When I was compelled to go to stay with your parents and greet mine next day
As we were on vacation that Dussehra
All that fuss, in a shush.
I never heard that mute alarm ringing
How I wished you standing by me
When I lost my baby in womb
When I was judged for losing the unborn
Again, I ignored that ringing alarm
How I fancy that alarm wasn’t snoozed
How I wish an alarm would ring loud and notify me whenever I am wronged
How I want to take a stand and say a NO
How I long now not to crumble under any pressure
It’s late now, a decade late, but now I am going to say loud
It’s a No, to all for you
It’s a late cry
And the last cry

Such deep words and beautifully expressed emotions, though sad reality of women life.
Thanks Kinshoo. Sadly, many women still face this situation.
In the name of tradition and other so called expectations a woman many times does not realise she is wronged. Good that the cry was better late than never.
