L – Lying Tween
From silly fibs to save-face lies, this letter unpacks the many shades of lying in a tween’s world.
You might have heard a lot about mindfulness. It is the buzzword these days. But what exactly is it?
Mindfulness is the practice of being present and fully engaged at the moment. Further, devoid of any distraction or judgment, and aware of our thoughts and feelings without getting caught up in them.
In simpler words, being in a moment like a child focusing on splashing water and not expecting any outcome.
Mindfulness is a lifestyle approach. It encourages us to understand the moment, being aware of our underlying emotions in situations of life.
Let’s acknowledge it. We live in a busy world. While packing lunch boxes for kids, you are working on to-do of the day. While commuting to work we plan our pending presentation, plug on music, or have a call with friends. In this rush life, we often forget to spend time with ourselves.
With mindfulness lifestyle, we get a chance to reflect on our wellbeing, mental health, and emotions.
From silly fibs to save-face lies, this letter unpacks the many shades of lying in a tween’s world.
As I continue to write letters, I reflect on the growing sense of kindness. Not the passive, be-nice-to-everyone kind, but the kind that comes with boundaries.
