Parents love their child regardless of birth ways. An adoptive parent enlarges their heart and loves their little one. The later ones also need to reinforce a positive feeling allied with the word, adoption. Feeling about the adoption form a child’s sense of self-worth and respect. A child would be curious to know “Where do I come from?” Answering that question carve their identity. Many parents understand the importance of talking about it. Few might feel clueless about how to start. For them and others, here is a book to read for your child. In my heart by Nandana Dev Sen illustrated by Ruchi Mhasane.

Book review: In my heart by Nandana Dev Sen
The story covers family born out of love and deeply connected. The little curious Mia is the face of kids who are surrounded by similar questions.
While discussing adoption is often ignored or hushed in our society, the book is a brave attempt encouraging us to talk about it. The approach to the topic of adoption is heartwarming and celebrating. The book becomes more endearing as it touches the extended families too.
The dynamics of the family and the other support system nurture Mia lovingly and helped her embrace her identity.
Warm illustrations add depth to every page. It just embraces the reader.
We need more books like this. This would be helpful for young children, parents, extended family, and other social circles of any bonded by heart family.

This looks an excellent book with the adoption topic to be discussed with ease.
Touching a sensitive topic like adoption with depth is quite difficult. Curious to read this book now.

We definitely need more books like these. Touching and very emotional.
This is so touched story ,even I love to read it. Is Mia find tummy mummy or she still love to stay in moms heart from where she came
I really like the concept of this story. Look forward to get my hands on it! 🙂
Sounds like a very sweet and a very relevant book as well. I keep talking about how its important to raise our kids in a progressive way and given how adoption is still not a norm and many couples who want to adopt face family pressure too, I am so happy to see a book that teaches kids about adoption in a loving manner. I am def getting this book for Karma and recommending to my friends too. Great recommendation babe. Thank you! 🙂
I am glad it touches a relevant topic.
I haven’t read this book, but it is heartening to see that many inclusive stories are being written for children.
I really loved this book too, it made so emotional. I think it is very important to talk about adoption with all children so the stigma around it is removed.
Yes, you are right, adoption is not so acceptable in our society. This book seems to break the myths. Nice review.
This sounds like a real heart touching read buddy. Thanks for the review.
